i am a 34 years old women ; i've been diagnoned with a large fibroids just after a miscarriage in March2012,when i needed a child,now this...my husband and i visited a gynea a2weeks back and he said that i have a fibroid of8inchs; i was like what's..?he then suggest a surgery...my husband said we have to go for another ultrasound because it wasn't there whe i miscariaded,wht will do this coming monday;do fibroids grow this fast in 4-5months times they become this big?also i don't want to go for an operation,is there another method to cure it without surgery?i nned a child baddly , also my husband.wWe can have it remove when we done with making babies3years later,is it possible...please help me out there...

When I was going through my many gynaecological situations including a large fibroid about 8cm in size, I did not settle for one gynae opinion. I saw about 7 gynaes and other general practioners. The first thing I will therefore suggest is seek another opinion. It is quite possible that the miscarriage was caused by the large fibroid, a fibroid that size should have been picked up on the ultrasound though. However, they tend to grow fast in early pregnancy given increase estrogen so that can be an explanation. It should however had return to its original size after the miscarriage. Also the size of your abdomen should be more than a 5months pregnancy with that size. Ill suggest you start documenting all the changes you notice in your body before and after the miscarriage, including ultrasound report and seek a gynae that deals with these cases. Write down all the questions before you enter the office so you can asked them all.
My fibroid grow a cm each year. I never got pregnant and was told that if I did the possibility of miscarriage would have been high. I did the surgery. From what I read, chinese herbs work and I did try it, but they are more effective on fibroids 6cm/3inches and smaller and work slowly. I know when you want a child, time is of the essence. Concerning the discharge, again seek another opinion and I asked if it is normal. With the irregular cycle, it happened with me, moved from 28 to 30 to 25 days, but still within normal range so I never worried about it. Pain prior to menstruation is normal for many persons. It can be a mid cycle pain, sign of ovulation etc but if you think it is strange, get more information from a different gynae. Hope I helped.
