Your Emotional Health: A very important part of your healing

Many of the different articles you read concerning what contributes to the growth of fibroid or the state of any of your uterus issues will mention STRESS! In what ways are we stress or can become stressed and how do we deal with it? It is very easy to become stressed or to add stress to our lives in situations like ours, especially if we are not doing anything to reduce or manage it. Here are some situations that can add stress to our lives:

  • Difficulty finding solutions to our problems- We have visited several different doctors/specialist, some came highly recommended, spend a lot of money and there is no one who can give us some clear directives or some clear answers.
  • Ready for kids- You have accomplished your degrees, the job you want, have a great husband and a nice big home and you are now ready to fill it with the kids of your dream and now after years of not trying, you start trying for your babies and nothing is happening.
  • Watching other people who are pregnant or have kids- Some times you walk the street or visit your gynaecologist and there are several excited women seated them with their pregnant tummies. You wonder what it feels like to have a child growing inside of your? When will be your time? You had a preference for a girl or boy child, now you no longer care what you have as long as you have a kid. It hurts even more as you walk the street and see young teenagers with children they cannot take care of.
  • The news and advertisements- ABORTIONS AND HOMELESS CHILDREN. How it hurts and frustrate you. Why are these persons who do not want kids or do not have the means too provide for them so fertile and you who have the means and the education and all the other factors who have worked on over the years to make yourself a better mom, cannot have kids.
  • Baby showers and Celebrations- All your friends around you are having kids. You have gone to several baby showers, your telephone rang and a friend screamed " I am pregnant" You are happy for them and you would celebrate with them but there lies an emptiness within you that longed to be filled and now that news just opened up the wound. Your friend is innocent. She doesn't know your problems. 
  • The talks and questions- Is how many years you married now?  When are you going to give me a niece, a nephew, a grandchild, a god child....? It is coming in all directions. The longer you are married, the worse it becomes. They do not know your difficulty, you want to tell them but you are ashamed, uneasy and angry. Maybe they know, maybe they have guessed...thoughts that haunts you.
  • Your past mistakes- You have had an abortion before and now you are ready for kids, but you cannot because what you did had detrimental effects on your uterus so you have to live with the guilt.
  • Your Spouse- he is ready for his son. His friends are talking about their kids and he feel empty. Nothing is wrong with him and he shouts at you, he abuses you. He calls you names. You feel helpless, unworthy, you think you deserve it; it is your fault.
There are many things that can increase your stress. They might not happen all at once. You might go on a few days feeling good and all it takes is one of the above situations to set you off. What are you doing to improve your emotional health? For me, I have nothing to hide :). I blog and  I have a carefree spirit. I might not be ready for kids economically but I keep a positive mind that all will work when I am ready and I trust in God. What are you doing?
