4 weeks 4 days after myomectomy to remove fibroid

How am I feeling?

Every step closer to recovery make me quite contented that I have made the decision to have the myomectomy. Yes I am!! I am walking uprightly now and faster and I can even do housework. Yesterday I cooked. Today I cleaned. Now housework is not really a look forward too, but when you can feel your body regaining its strength and energy so much so that you can do these things then it tells you that you are recovering nicely. I also enjoy looking at my tummy. It is sooo much flatter.

I had a pinched nerve sometime ago from starting it too quickly I suppose, so it is very important that you are cautious when getting back on your feet especially when the six weeks recovery is not up. I am presently seeing a physiotherapist and I believe it is helping. I still cannot stand long and have to do the housework at intervals but I am doing it.

What about the Lupron shot? Well let me say that I truly understand what hot flash is and it is not simply feeling hot or warm or whatever the sun normally does. No, no, no .... If you have to constantly sit next to your fan, feel like you want to get out of your own skin because the heat is within your body forcing its way out, then maybe you understand hot flash. Even now, listening to other people's story, I know that what I am feeling is minute when compare to their experiences, but for me at times it is momentous and the only good thing is the force with which it may come is not constant. It tends to come in waves although you might always feel warm.
I am still waiting for it to affect my sex drive though, which I wish it will do seeing that I have 2 more weeks to go before getting the right away.

Let me take this opportunity to all those persons who inbox me on facebook, telephone me, like my facebook page and is following the blog. I would like to especially thank those who posted their situations. I know not everyone would want to do it especially since it means opening up to the world and letting them know what is happening with you, so for those of us who are willing to, I am grateful because I know, just by watching the number of persons reading the blog and their location that our issues are global and many are searching for answers. I will continue to encourage persons to comment and post your struggles and success story as it may just help one to make a decision they are struggling with or get help.

  3. Hello, Thank you for posting this. I had a myomectomy (May 23rd) and I am doing much better. This Wednesday will be 4 weeks since surgery and you're right, every little victory makes you feel better. I am able to do a little housework here and there and walk around the store with my sister. But afterwards, I am swollen on my incision area and need to take a little break. It's great to see someone is sharing their story because this was my first surgery and I felt so alone and nervous. This helps me see that I am not alone, so thank you.

Please keep in touch with your progress. Right now, I am passed 7 weeks but what I feel most times is itching in the incision. It is always good to hear from those who have similar experiences.
